Join Sarah’s Circle for our 32nd annual Winter Walk: A Mile in Her Shoes on February 25th from 1-3pm at Uplift Community High School! This event highlights the harsh reality of women’s homelessness during the deadly cold of Chicago’s winters. Your support can make the difference between a woman struggling to survive alone on the street and a woman who is safe and warm in her own bed.
The day starts with a short program, which will lead to everyone splitting up into groups to be led on a mile-long walk through Uptown. You will stop four times on this walk, hearing a different part of a client’s story each time. The walk ends back at Uplift Community High School, where we end the day with food and refreshments!
This year, you can help women experiencing homelessness by walking with us, donating, and/or fundraising. Sarah’s Circle thanks you for your help ensuring that every woman in Chicago has a place to call home.
Last year’s tremendous support of Winter Walk: a Mile in Her Shoes continues to have a significant impact on women who are homeless and struggling to survive in Chicago through every season. Winter is particularly challenging and deadly. No one should be subject to living outside in harsh Chicago winters. This is why we walk.
