If You Need Services

Sarah’s Circle offers housing assistance, case management, referral services, and help meeting basic needs to women who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness. We serve individuals who identify as female, including trans women, who are 18 years or older and are unaccompanied by pets, non-female spouses, or children under 18. 

Call the Interim Housing front desk at (773) 751-7475 to check if there are beds available. For emergency shelter, or help finding shelter, call City Services at 311.

The Sarah’s Circle Daytime Support Center is open to any woman experiencing homelessness Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. Here you can receive meals, take showers, do laundry, access phones and internet, receive mail, or speak with a case manager. Breakfast and lunch are served daily. Toiletries, lockers, and other resources are also available.

We are nearest the Lawrence Red Line, the 81 Lawrence bus at Sheridan, or the 151 Sheridan bus at Gunnison.

Call the Domestic Violence Help Line at 1 (877) 863-6338 or visit their website for more information. Calls are free, confidential, available 24 hours, and multilingual.

Call City Services at 311 and ask for help finding shelter with a child.

Sarah’s Circle does not distribute cash funds. However, if you need financial assistance with rent, a security deposit, or utilities, you can call City Services at 311 and ask for “short-term help.”

You can begin work with a case manager at our Daytime Support Center at 4838 N Sheridan, 9AM-4:30PM, Monday through Friday, for one-on-one help with a number of resources.

If you aren’t sure what to do, call our Daytime Support Center front desk at (773) 728-1991 between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:30 pm and someone can assist you.

Apply for Permanent Supportive Housing with Sarah’s Circle

Sarah’s Circle has developed 38 units of Permanent Supportive Housing in a project called “Sarah’s on Sheridan.” These are subsidized through the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA).
